The Coolest Baby Bag in the World & MP Today.

Anyone who know me, know I have a strange affinity, okay, SICKNESS for certain things... like for instance, office supplies. After reaching motherhood I found that I have a new strange sickness for baby bags. I'm very weird about my baby bag. Obsessed, you will. If something isn't packed right, or missing... I know. Here is my new baby bag that I have picked for Mini Peaves Part Deux.

It's the Juju Be Be Prepared, in Mint Julip... retailing at about 180.00, I found it for a little less than that with free shipping from http://www.littledudesanddivas.com/. I am NOT normally a label whore, except when it comes to baby stuff. This is THE bag, man!
So, I have decided how organized I am going to be considering, my pregnancy hormones have made me a scatterbrained numb-skull. I lost my wallet yesterday... then lost my phone looking for my wallet. But NO MORE man, not with the advanced Mommy-Pockets! This is the answer to my life's endeavors. Who knows, you could probably fit a new born baby in there!!
It occurs to me I haven't really told everyone what is going on in the world of Mini Peaves. Well, she is a terror. Parts of her personality are starting to shine through as a 16 month old, and I love, love, love her. She seems to be born with an attitude that has spanned at least 3 generations (my Lola, my mom, & me) and she knows it too. Her attitude isn't obnoxious like mine, it's just this great burning confidence that is going to make her a strong willed woman... the kind I like to hang out with. Hopefully, MP part Deux will have it as well. We kind of have a routine and I have learned that toddlers are very fickle eaters. One day she eats everything in sight, then the next, everything is, "noooooo." I also have had my patience run very, very thin once in awhile, and right when I am about to get angry, she looks at me, and waves with kind of a sheepish grin. Hmmmm, those are Papa's genes.

Comic Con 2008!

Hi Everyone... if you want to see the fun stuff Papa got to "see" or HIS take of Comic Con, click on his blog... It was another successful & fun year at Comic Con.  MP got to go on Thursday and Sunday, and alas, I am seriously thinking of not having the kiddos go until they are a little older.  It's just too many people & too much trampling going on.  Comic Con might be a nice week at the grandparents house.

Anyway, The Lost panel was amazing, with a surprise visit from Michael Fox, and a Dharma Initiative Recruitment Seminar.  There was also a secret Dharma Tape released, and I swear I heard Dr. Farriday in the background (for those of you who follow the show).
Uncle Hugh's Freshmen Summer Special had an awesome Comic Con Exclusive cover released and we saw him 3 out of the four days.  Hugh was nominated for an Emmy for his work on the Robot Chicken Star Wars Special, and he poked MP in the head with his chin.
Among the highlights was Terminator: Salvation (with Christian Bale), The new Apatow Movie Pineapple Express and the Watchmen movie.
The usual Comic Con group was there minus Uncle Jay Jay because he's off trying to get his damn Superbowl Ring.  And we had Uncle Abu show up a few days.  Uncle Ben, Uncle Randy & Uncle Sam were there...
Ummmm.... here are some pictures...or not.  Blogger is being slow and stupid.  Wait a few hours and I will post them. =)

Another Gripe... Last One...I Promise!

Or, until something pisses me off again!  Hehe.  So, I'm at the stage in my pregnancy where every morning I put it on TLC and watch a Baby Story or Bringing Home Baby.  There always happens to be this episode where there is a father who is super grossed out about changing diapers.  In fact, this couple already had a two year old daughter and was bringing home another boy.  The mother said, "He gets really wimpy when it comes to changing poopy diapers... so I always get the baby when it's time.  I don't think he has ever changed a poopy diaper."  3 words... actually, more than 3... my advice for those mom's...
Get a divorce from that loser-ass husband of yours who can't man up to change his own kids' poop.
Papa has NEVER run away from a Mini-Peaves poop challenge.  In fact, one time, the diaper smelled so bad, I really puked and had to have him take over immediately.  Never, did he complain or behave like a wuss.  He has always stepped up to it.
A quote from my father watching the same Bringing Home Baby episode, "What kind of a MAN can't change his own kids diaper??"
Okay, fine.  We are not the most perfect parents in the world, but I don't think I could look a man in the eye if he literally, ran away every time our kid did his business in a diaper.  How could you have sex with such a wimp????  I'm all for the sensitive, gentle type... (wait, no I'm not.)
Clean the shit, Dad.

Legoland & Other Summer Stuff

As the summer goes on... I wanted to post stuff before it got old. Anyway, we went to Legoland 2 times in a week because MP's cousins were visiting from Virginia and we got a deal where you pay a dollar a ticket and you could come back in 9 days. (We will start going to Night Zoo again because it's fun and cheap. More on that in my next few posts.)  Anyway, turns out Legoland is friggin' fun! MP LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the water park portion which has maybe 3-4 acres of dancing fountains... etc. She just played in the water for a few hours at a time and has a major tan now.  I think, for those of you that are parents, we can all agree that watching out little beebs discover how cool things are is one of the best parts of being a parent.  I mean, she doesn't just have a popsicle, she HAS a popsicle.  It's like she savours every drop that hits her taste buds.  And water coming out of the ground on a hot day??  Forget it!  Kids are cool.

Summertime Part 2

Our lovely friend Anthony had to move out of his college abode for the summer and his 20 gallon fish tank with a handful of Mollies needed a home.  So, being MP's favorite friend, we volunteered our house until September to watch his fishies.  Well, in the move, 3 out of the 6 fish he had died.  There's a saying... "sometimes fish die."  Someone wise said that.  Anyway, we acquired new Mollys.  Apparently though, these are live bearing tropical fish, meaning... that if mollies were rabbits... they, uhhh would have a lot of babies like rabbits!  Anyway, we started out with six and now we have about 20 of them and another one is pregnant!  ACK!  Anyone want a molly?  In this next picture, we have a hamster.  It is a girl hamster that someone in their infinite knowledge, decided they just didn't want anymore and just abandoned on the side of the road, with a cage, a bag of bedding and
a bag of food.  Turns out, the little turd bites, and bites hard.  So, I put an ad out on craigslist with a 5.00 re-homing fee (because I guess you are not allowed to put out ads to give away animals) well, we got guppies instead.  Some poor family took the hamster, who thought currency worked well in guppies.  MP really got a kick out of watching her run on the wheel, and liked her but this poor hamster just wasn't for us.  Then, in the next picture, MP is at the Del Mar Fair... you don't see it, but she is sitting next to a very LOUD cow.  It mooed A LOT and MP loved it.  We hung out there for a good chunk of time, listening to her moo.  Further down
you will see a stack of pancakes, because things with batter are never scarce in MP's house!  We love pancakes!  Then, the next pic is of MP and her cousin K from Virginia... who is a few months older than MP. They hit it off nicely when they went to Legoland.  I'm gonna post next two posts devoted entirely to Legoland and the Fair, because I can't just skim through those.  Anyway, we love summer!
